What is Blister Scar?
Blister Scar is a raised lesion of clear fluid which is accumulated under the skin caused by allergic reaction, burns, and trauma to the skin. It can also be a result of systemic illness or skin disorders.
Causes of Blister Scar
- Rubbing or pinching may result in skin irritation and it may cause to the blisters.
- Herpes and chickenpox may cause to the blisters.
- Skin disorders such as impetigo, and pemphigus vulgaris may also be the reason for this disease.
- Skin exposure to the allergen like latex, cosmetics, cleaning solutions can trigger redness, rash and blisters on the skin.
- Poison ivy, oak, or sumac may also help to increase these blisters.
- Severe sunburn and thermal burns causes to the blisters.
- Blood blisters are the result of trauma to the skin.
Symptoms of Blister Scar
- These blisters mainly appear on the hands and feet.
- Blisters are look like bubble filled with fluid which may be painful and itchy.
- Symptoms are usually depends on the cause.
- Blisters which are result of friction or burn are very painful.
- Blisters which are caused by eczema can become red and severe itching and small bumps can occur on the area where skin is affected.
- If skin is affected because of infection with Bullous impetigo then the symptom is redness of the skin and bursting of blisters.
- Fever, sore throat, cough and muscle pain may also experience.
- Itchy, red bumps or blisters. Pemphigoid because of dermatitis herpetiformis
- Sensitivity to the sun may increase because of reaction of medicine.
Treatment of Blister Scar
Generally blisters should leave as it is without treating them by self treatment because if you will break it then it will be more infected therefore don't break them just cover them with bandage. If it is breaks just wash them with soap and water and apply bandage on this. If your blisters are large in size so just se your doctor he will drain and apply a antibacterial cream on it.
Treatment for the blister may be varies according to the causes. corticosteroid cream or pills are used to treat blisters caused by eczema and antiviral medications are used to treat Herpes simplex infections and shingles. Antibiotic cream or pills are useful to treat impetigo. Anti-itch lotions like calamine is used to relieve itching occurred by Chickenpox. Corticosteroids os prescribed medicine which is used to treat Pemphigoid and pemphigus. Medicine such as cholestyramine , chloroquine and beta-carotene can be useful for the treatment of Porphyria. Diet is beneficial for them who are suffering with dermatitis herpetiformis.
