Head Lice Treatment

There are so many treatments are used to remove the head lice. The medicated shampoo, cream, lotion are used to kill the lice. To remove the head lice some medicated and home remedies are used. It is very important to control a head louse infestation by using effective treatment.

How to treat head louse?

  • Combing is also used to head lice.
  • Pediculicides are the pesticides used to eliminate head lice.
  • Lyclear is used to kill any lice emerging from eggs which is re-applied seven days after the initial treatment if any lice seen in the head.
  • Nix are more effective to remove the head lice. This is used for 3 month children's and older.
  • To kill lice machine wash all washable clothing and bed linens that the infested person used during the 2 days before treatment.
  • Head lice shampoo like Rid or Nix are used for removing nits with a lice comb.
  • Regularly clean head and has direct contact with the car seats, pillows, head phones.
  • Nit combs are in lice medicine packages, should be used to comb nits and lice from the hair shaft.

Some head louse treatments causes risk such as

  • Some shampoos contain Lindane which disrupts hormone levels and regulate growth and reproductive health.
  • These products are insecticides which is harmful to health.
  • Strong chemicals are damaging your child's hair and skin.
  • The some treatments will make the scalp itchy.
  • Increase the use of chemical shampoo could be risk of developing leukemia.

Precautions which are beneficial to treat the head lice

  • Do not share infested combs, brushes, towels.
  • Medications are not used for children's which are under 2 years.
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use head-lice medications.
  • Do not use a creamed rinse or combination shampoo or conditioner before using lice medicine.
  • Medications are used as prescribed by doctor.
