Make-up for a Darkish Face

The measuring rod for a woman's beauty is her fair complexion. A healthy, smooth and glowing skin makes a woman stunningly attractive despite a darkish complexion. A tasteful make-up and good choice of clothes enhance the beauty of a dark woman.

Use a liquid foundation before make-up. Select a darker shade of foundation in order to subdue the unwanted glow because a dark skin has a tendency to shine. The face looks patchy with a lighter shade of foundation. You may add distilled water to make a correct shade. Rub in the lotion well so that it may be absorbed by the skin.

Use very little quantity of powder on darkish complexion. Almond-brown mascara and light-tinged eye-shadow are suitable for dark skin.

Go for a lipstick having a shade lighter than the color of your lips and give a light touch. During evening, use a almond-red shade lipstick. Avoid coffee shade or pink shade. For dark lips, lip-gloss is suggested.

Dark skin women should avoid black, blue, pink, light brown and sky blue color dresses. Instead, orange, red, white and yellow are good for dark skins. If you like to wear Western dresses like maxi, kaftan, middy, you should choose printed material. For saris, choose one with a border and a pallau. For jewellery, go in for diamonds, platinum and silver, and avoid the ingrained designs. If you are wearing a pallau-border sari, then put on dangling earrings.

Although every type of skin requires proper care, but dark skin needs more as it requires more moisture than a fair skin. A dark skin develops signs of ageing rather late as compared to white skins.

Dark skin women are less prone to pimples, shadows, wrinkles and blotches. If you have a dark but dry skin, use deep cleansing milk followed by a moisturizer at night. Wipe it off with a wet cotton wool swab, after half an hour.

Take a spoonful of unboiled milk and mix to it a little almond oil, a few drops of lemon juice and rose water. Apply the mixture on your face and neck daily at night. This mixture is good for clearing the complexion.
