What is Amyloidosis Lichen?
Amyloidosis Lichen is a collection of disease in the area where more than one body organ collects amyloids which cause to the dysfunction of organ system. It also affect heart, kidney and skin etc. It causes because of amyloid which is deposited in the dermis layer of skin.
Types of Amyloidosis Lichen
There are mainly three type of Amyloidosis Lichen
-
Primary amyloidosis
-
Secondary systemic amyloidosis
- Familial (hereditary) amyloidosis
Symptoms of Amyloidosis Lichen
- Fatigue and weight-loss are the common symptoms of this disease.
- There may be difficulty in breathing in this disease.
- Oedema and Hoarseness may also experience in this disease.
- Light headedness and numbness.
If not treated till two years, they can occur with following symptoms
- Small red blood spots on the skin
- Waxy papules, nodules or plaques may occur around the area of nose, eyelid or anogeniotal area.
- Crumbling of nails
- Increasing hairlosses
- Blisters filled with blood on pinching of skin.
Treatment of Amyloidosis Lichen
- Sedating antihistamines is an effective treatment of this disease.
- Combination of Topical and intralesional steroids and other modalities are beneficial for the treatment purpose.
- Surgical treatment involve for the removel of amyloids which includes laser vaporization, dermabrasion etc.
- Some drugs such as Chlorpheniramine, Diphenhydramine, Dimethyl sulfoxide are prescribed as essential for the treatment of this disease.
- Some antibiotics,cryotherapy and curettage and electrodesiccation are also used to treat amyloidosis lichen.
