What is Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia with Eosinophilia ?
Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia with Eosinophilia is a benign vascular proliferation which is characterized by eosinophilic lymphofolliculosis of the skin and it is composed of vascular and inflammatory cellular components. It is mostly occur on the head and neck area and it does not involve the area like hands, shoulders, breasts and orbit. It is usually occur in middle age. Kimura Disease, and Pseudopyogenic Granuloma are the synonyms of this disease.
Cause:cause of Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia with Eosinophilia is not clear. It is not known that whether it is neoplastic or reactive state. Reactive cause may be superior for this disease.
Treatment of Angiolymphoid Hyperplasia with Eosinophilia
Intralesional corticosteroids and irradiation is used but it was not so powerful. Another treatment includes topical imiquimod, topical tacrolimus, and interferon alfa-2b. Surgical treatment is used for some time but it didn't successful to prevent recurrence of lesions. Surgical treatment includes pulsed-dye laser and carbon dioxide laser are also used with little success.
