What is Aspergillosis?

Aspergillosis is a infectious fungal disease caused by a fungus of the Aspergillus type whise is mostly affects in the skin, ears, nasal sinuses, and lungs.

Causes:The main and important cause of aspergillosis is only fungal aspergillus. It may occur very effectively to the person who is affected with the disease like asthma, cancer, AIDS etc.

Symptoms of Aspergillosis

  • Chills, Fever, malaise, cough can be experience.
  • Blood with cough, blood in urine and Wheezing
  • Unintentional weight loss
  • Headaches, chest pain and bone pain also have been seen in this disease.
  • Chills, shock, delirium, and blood clots
  • Difficulty in breathing

Treatment of Aspergillosis

  • Prophylactic antifungal therapy and the use of laminar air flow can make for the treatment of aspergillosis.
  • High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration must be done in the patients room.
  • Oral corticosteroidsare useful for hypersensitivity reaction.
  • Therapy with voriconazole, or some time itraconazole is useful to treat this disease.
  • Some drugs namely Amphotericin B, Caspofungin, Prednisone and Posaconazole are suggested essential to treat this disease.
  • Surgery can be proceed if antifungal therapy is fail.
  • Surgical resection may need when Aspergillomas occurs in the areas necrotizing pneumonia.
