What is Blastomycosis North American?
Blastomycosis is granulomatous fungal infection caused by yeastlike organism and endemic dimorphic fungi Blastomyces dermatitidis. It often affects skin and lung mostly. - Bloody and brown cough can be seen.
- Fever and Fatigue may experience
- Patient may loss his or her weight in this disease.
- Joint and muscular stiffness and pain and chest pain may also occur to the patient.
- Rashes and lesion may make destroy skin appearance.
- Sweating and ill-feeling may feel in this disease.
- Difficulty in breathing.
Treatment of Blastomycosis North American
Antibiotics can be used to treat this disease till it is not severe or it is not spread out of lung but once it spread out of lung then it become severe then some drugs such as amphotericin B, itraconazole, or other antifungal agents are approved for treatment. Ketoconazole at 400 to 800 mg/day is essential for the patient with CNS infection. Hydroxystilbamidine is used to treat the cutaneous blastomycosis.
