What is Elastolysis Mid Dermal?
Elastolysis Mid Dermal is a rare disorder of the connective tissue. It occur in mid dermis. It is asymptomatic, textural change of the skin of unknown etiology. Disease duration ranged from 4 months to 17 years. It appear on the trunk, neck, and upper aspect of limits. It is a skin disease. The duration of this disease is 3 month. The skin around eyes, neck and face becomes loose. It occurs very rarely.It has round patches of 1-5 cm diameter.It occur in all age people. It affects men and women equally.
Causes of Elastolysis Mid Dermal
- Various elastic tissue abnormalities
- Abnormality in the copper metabolism
- Urticaria & idiopathic
- Genetic pattern
- Annular erythematous-papular lesions
- Abnormal cartilage calcification
What are the symptoms of Elastolysis Mid Dermal?
- Wrinkled skin
- Band-like loss of elastic tissue in the mid-reticular dermis
- Hiatal hernias, umbilical, & inguinal
- Axillae, inguinal region, antecubital fossa, neck, and trunk
Elastolysis Mid Dermal Treatment
- Take balanced diet and healthy food.
- Dapsone like bactericidal and bacteriostatic against mycobacteria is the drug which is use to control the swelling.
- Stay away from junk food and exercise regularly.
- Surgical excision is used if lesions are small.
- Oral colchicine used to prevent the formation of new inflammatory lesions.
- Prevention of undue trauma, and symptomatic treatment.
- Therapy of Annular Elastolytic Giant Cell Granuloma with Fumaric Acid Esters.
